Converting your Poem to a Script
The Vancouver Poetry House “Poetry Shorts” contest is now open to youth under 21!
All our videos are full of helpful tricks and tools to write and edit your poems as well as useful information to help you bring your ideas to life in video. The sequence of videos will help you create your winning entry. 

Write your poems, create your videos and submit them to win cool prizes from Vancouver Poetry House, Write Bloody North and possibly have your video included in festival programming at the 2021 Hullabaloo or Verses Festival of Words in April.

Rules:
The contest is open to poets 21 and under
Poets must submit original work (no covers)
Videos should be 2 minutes or less
No hate speech 
Load your videos to youtube and send a link in our registration form (link below)
You may submit as many videos as you like but only one video per poet may be included in festival programming

Prizes:
Selected videos will be shared on the Vancouver Poetry House youtube and facebook pages every two weeks beginning on Feb 15st
The top videos from each two week period beginning Feb 15st will receive prizes from Vancouver Poetry House, Write Bloody North and our sponsors/partners
The very best poems and videos will be included in festival programming at Hullabaloo and Verses Festival of Words programming.

Terms and Conditions
Selected videos will be posted by Vancouver Poetry House on Facebook and Youtube. Poets will be sent links that they may share. 
Contest winners and videos selected to be included in Hullabaloo and Verses Festival of words will be selected at the sole discretion of Vancouver Poetry House.
