D’J Features at the November 28th Youth Poetry Slam
We’re rolling along with our youth slam season including another event in November.
Remember to be on the 2017 youth slam team you need to slam/compete AT LEAST TWICE during the year AND you CANNOT be turning 21 BEFORE Sept 1st, 2017.
Each month we have a competiion, a poetry open mic and a featured performer. This month it’s a treat to welcom D’j from Saskatoon.
“D’j is a spoken-word story-poet from Saskatchewan. She has been performing on the national stage for a handful of years and was a member of the 2015 Canadian Festival of Spoken Word championship winning team. She started writing poetry when she realized that it was the easiest way to turn failure into success.
Her first chapbook, a collection of music themed prose poetry called Joni Isn’t From Here Anymore, will be self-published this November.”
We acknowledge our events take place on unceded Coast Salish Territory. We also strive to be a trans friendly event and we hope you can help out to that end.
Cash only at the door. ATM are located across the street.
