Santiago Ureña

Santiago Ureña is a multidisciplinary poet, musician, game designer and accidental Douglas College dropout. Published in Poetry Is Dead and The Sea To Sky Review, Santiago was the 2016 Van Slam Youth Slam Champion and has competed in the Canadian Individual Poetry Slam, as well as in the Canadian Festival Of Spoken Word as part of Slamapalooza’s 2017 team. Their poetry explores themes of migration, family, identity and language; they were born in Mexico City and now live uninvited on the unceded, ancestral and traditional territory of several Coast Salish nations.
