Lilija Valis

Lilija Valis was born in Lithuania and resided in Germany, Italy, Australia and the United States (Boston, New Orleans, Atlanta, New York City, Los Angeles, San Francisco and Washington, DC), before settling in Canada to make Vancouver her home.

She has been a war refugee, and a civil rights worker. She has been trapped in city riots,  present at major music and literary arts festivals, and a participant in the dance community and freedom movements.

Lilija Valis has a book of poetry as well as two CDs out, one solo and the other with two musicians, Enrico Renz and Lawren Nemeth. Her work has been published in various magazines including Oratorealis 3, and eight anthologies. She performs at literary, musical and political/philosophical local and international events.
