Kelsey Savage
Kelsey Savage is a sometimes-ginger, always-freckled writer living on unceded Coast Salish territories. Her work has been featured in a variety of mediums including Stay Solid! A Radical Handbook for Youth, the Brave New PlayRites Festival, the Vancouver Fringe Festival, and the Vancouver Burlesque Long Form showcase. As a composite poet for leadership initiatives such as the Minerva Foundation, she uses her spidey senses to translate the emotional climates of rooms into inspirational poetic artefacts. She has spent the past two years working alongside Vancouver-based burlesque artists in collaborative explorations of the dance between body and word. Kelsey is in her seventh year of hosting the Open Mic at Christianne’s Lyceum in Kitsilano, where she strives to promote creative safe space for veteran and budding artists alike. When she’s not busy being a poet she’s a lindy hop swing dancer, a sexual health educator in training, and a delightfully skilled improviser.
