daniyah (aka DJ ANGLE, she/they) is everyone’s favourite shit disturber. They work to dismantle systems of oppression by day and rock dance floors by night. They have performed at Pride events, the official lady gaga afterparty 3 years in a row, many local events including Babes On Babes at fortune, Killjoy, a QTBIPOC dance party, Vancouver Art Attack and more. They are also the founder and co-director of Diversity: Arts Music and Entertainment (DAME), developing workshops and immersive content for artists and organizers working on bridging activism with the arts. Also a trainer with the towardtheheart program, DJ ANGLE is passionate about destigmatizing substance use and volunteers with nightlife harm reduction group: KARMIK with her best friends Munroe and Margy to teach folks about naloxone administration and operational/organizational harm reduction. An events manager by trade, DJ ANGLE is responsible for events like the Davie Street Party with the vancouver pride society, which has a liquor capacity of 9,000 and a final attendance of over 15, 000. DJ ANGLE also contributes to frameworks of accountability, conflict resolution, equity, harm reduction, with the principles of coworking to organizations pursuing social justice in their role on the management team at 312 main – vancouvers global center for socio-economic innovation in the DTES. In their spare time, DJ ANGLE can be found spreading joyful militancy and catching white tears.
