Billy-Ray Belcourt
Billy-Ray Belcourt is from the Driftpile Cree Nation. He is a PhD student in the Dept. of English & Film Studies at the University of Alberta. He is a 2016 Rhodes Scholar, and was the first-ever First Nations person to be elected such in Canada. This Wound is a World is his first book: it was published by Frontenac House in 2017 and was named the best Canadian poetry collection of 2017 by CBC Books. His second book, NDN COPING MECHANISMS, will be published in the fall of 2019 by House of Anansi Press.
