SUMMARY:Ivan Coyote Masterclass
DESCRIPTION:Ivan Coyote’s Masterclass is a live performance workshop for writers\, poets and storytellers. \nIvan Coyote is the author of 9 collections of short stories\, one novel\, the editor of an anthology\, and the producer of four short films and three audio CDs. Still\, Ivan makes most of their living as a full time writer and storyteller from live performances. Join Ivan in this workshop designed to help you transform your nervous energy into a memorable reading. With tips on selecting material\, preparing your work for performance\, memorization (or not)\, and how to make your body language work for you. Ivan will also share some stage secrets about microphones\, sound guys and selling your books. To get the most out of this workshop participants should bring a 3 minute selection of their work to be staged. \nTickets are now available: http://thecultch.com/events/ivan-coyote-masterclass/ \nThis event is all ages. Masterclass entry is not included in Festival Passes.\n \nAccessibility Info: \nThe Cultch recently underwent major renovations\, which included increasing accessibility for people with disabilities. \nAll areas but the balcony are wheelchair accessible. You can purchase tickets at the lowered counter outside\, then enter the main space via the wide automatic door. Once inside\, there is a vestibule leading into the main open-concept lobby. Continuing on\, you will find three washroom options: a fully wheelchair accessible single stall gender-neutral washroom\, and two gendered washrooms each with a wheelchair accessible stall. Staff are friendly and able to assist in a variety of ways. \nThere is no designated wheelchair accessible parking\, but there is street parking around the neighbourhood. As well\, there are two parking spots that can be used at the rear of the building. We suggest that people call the box office ahead of time to reserve access to these spaces.
