| $6 – $10

We acknowledge this event is taking place on the unceded territories of the Squamish, Musqueam and Tsleil-Waututh peoples.

Well this is it, our youth slam finals where we find out who will be on the 2018 youth slam team and which poet will be crowned our youth slam grand slam champion.

There will be 3 rounds of poetry including two 3 minute rounds and one 1 minute round.

Competing poets include, Aly Brook, Victoria Rozon, Benedict Mendes, Nicola Durrant and Sage.

We will also have a feature performance from the one and only, Rachel Taylor…”Rachel Taylor is a queer comedy performance poet currently living on the unceded territory of the Musqueam, Tsleil-Waututh and Squamish Nations. She was born and raised a cradle Anglican in the Tsilhqot’in region. She is a Timelord Hufflepuff with all the worst characteristics of both parties. She’s a reading fanatic, a comic-book-movie addict, and is introverted enough that she has never played D&D.
Rachel has been a competitive slam poet for over five years, and represented Vancouver as a storm poet at Women of the World Poetry Slam in Brooklyn, NY in 2016″

We may have time for an open mic but that’s not for certain. Also admission for everyone will be $6-$10 as this is our finals and a fundraiser for the team. It’ll be cash only at the door.

Please be nice to our door staff. When we reach capacity they are simply enforcing the venue’s fire code regulations.

Vancouver Poetry House/Vancouver Poetry Slam strive to put on trans friendly events. We encourage you to help us achieve our goal.
