Come join us for another night of slam poetry! As always, our event is in our hybrid live & online format. Bring your selves and your words to Community Pizza, 1191 Commercial Dr, or to the Van Slam zoom space.
A bit about them:
Luna Piscetta (she.they) is a white settler of Italian and British ancestry who resides as an uninvited guest on Lekwungen and WSANEC land, colonially known as Victoria, BC. She bounces through life and art with varying degrees of grace and aspires to live life as a performance of love. Her creative work (spoken word, dance, drag, design) often involves movement/flow and emotion and is rooted in her body’s wisdom gained through resistance as a transfeminine, queer and neurodivergent human as well as her experience in sex work, in vulnerable communities and as a substance user. Raw, electric and visceral, her art has been shared on the Canadian Individual Poetry Slam stage as well as found in bookstores, coffee shops, bedrooms, and bathroom stalls. When Luna isn’t making art you can generally find her thrifting for deals, procrastinating and eating sour candy. You can follow her poetic escapades on insta @ma.amgram and her drag offerings @hymen_trouble.
Masking Policy:
Masks are strongly encouraged, but the venue is a restaurant and members of the audience will be maskless.
