By focusing on fundamental performance skills and an experimental lens of sound, participants will work toward deepening their connection to what tone, emotion, harmony, and poetic timing reveals about a poem. This masterclass welcomes all levels of writers, creatives, and performers who seek to develop their performance skills. Please bring a poem or short story (30 lines/sentences), in any language, to work with. Materials can be original or borrowed.

Vancouver Poetry House events take place on the ancestral territories of the Xʷməθkʷəy̓əm, Sḵwx̱wú7mesh, and Səl̓ílwətaʔ/Selilwitulh First Nations, whose lands were never sold, ceded, or relinquished,—lands that were taken. Vancouver Poetry House supports the resurgence of Indigenous culture and the work of Indigenous poets.
