The Vancouver Poetry House presents feature poet, Komi.

Emerging from the crocodile city of Kaduna Nigeria, Komi olaf is an artist and visionary poet combining elements of art and design with the power of word and music. As an activist, he uses his gift to fan the flames of creativity to aid healing, learning and growth.
He enjoys chess and theatre and believes in the existence of Aliens and extraterrestrial life. He currently resides in Ottawa, Canada.

We are in our three-round summer season. A two-minute round of 12 poets, a one-minute round of 6 poets, and then a four-minute round of 3 poets. Cut from below, clean slate each round. Let the summer season begin!

Cafe Deux Soleils and the Van Slam strive to be a trans friendly place and a hate speech free zone. Help us with that. We also acknowledge that this event takes place on unceded First Nations Territory.

Also, be kind to our VOLUNTEER door staff. They have to follow BC Liquor Board Rules and once we are sold out we can’t let anyone in unless someone leaves. You cannot save seats for people in line. Let them know if you are leaving. Also no ATM at the door, it’s cash ONLY.

Get there early if you want a seat or want to slam. Before 7pm!
