The Vancouver Poetry Slam presents feature poet, Ian Martinez.

Ian Martinez is a longtime resident of Seattle, though he grew up in New York. Ian is the current co-slammaster and reigning Grand Slam champion of Rain City Poetry Slam, Seattle’s only all-ages, PSi-certified slam. He has competed in, coached for, and staffed various National Poetry Slam, Individual World Poetry Slam, and Women of the World poetry slams nationwide. Ian was formerly a Writing Center Fellow at Georgetown University, and has had a career as a political journalist, organizer, and speechwriter. Sometimes he sells out for money.

Also, be kind to our VOLUNTEER door staff. They have to follow BC Liquor Board Rules and once we are sold out we can’t let anyone in unless someone leaves. You cannot save seats for people in line. Let them know if you are leaving. Also no ATM at the door, it’s cash ONLY.

Get there early if you want a seat or want to slam. Before 7pm.
