The 2nd annual HULLABALOO FINALS NIGHT will determine which school has the best poetic chops in all of British Columbia. KHARY JACKSON (2-time U.S. Slam Champion) will start the evening with a feature set of his award-winning spoken word poetry. Then, the top four teams – who have advanced through the preliminary stages – will face off against each other with the 2012 Hullabaloo team championship at stake. Opening the night will be a mini-feature by Hullabaloo alums, Mo Lawrence and Lee Cannon-Brown.

About Khary Jackson aka 6 is 9
Khary Jackson was part of the 2009 and 2010 St. Paul Minnesota National Championship Team in the United States, plus the 2008 St Paul Grand Slam Champ and placing 6th in the nation at his first Individual Word Poetry Slam Championships in 2007. He also finished in the top 5 at the 2008 Individual World Poetry Slam Competition in Charlotte, North Carolina. He lives/breathes/detests/adores writing poetry. He may shock, tickle, subtly move, devastate or inspire you. He can be intense onstage, but he still likes hugs from friendly strangers.

About Mo Lawrence and Lee Cannon-Brown
Our opening features both participated with their respective schools in Hullabaloo 2011. Lee Cannon-Brown (South Delta Secondary) – known for his dead pan wit and comedic timing – had the highest scoring poem on the Team Finals Night at Hullabaloo 2011. Mo Lawrence (Howe Sound Secondary) used his manic intensity and blazing lyricism to go on to become the 2011 Youth Slam Grand Champ.
