An evening of poetic short performances featuring an ensemble of poets from across the country. Each excerpt represents a preview of a forthcoming full production, offering audience members a sneak-peek of performances in the making.
Act 1: Body Language: A Study of Poetry in Motion – explores how we communicate and the languages we use to do it. It experiments with changing the primary ‘voice’ on stage between spoken word, dance, and Sign.
Act 2: Quiet Kitchen by Johnny Trinh – a food and storytelling short performance
Act 3: InnerGenerational by Anto Chan – explores intergenerational trauma and healing

Vancouver Poetry House events take place on the ancestral territories of the Xʷməθkʷəy̓əm, Sḵwx̱wú7mesh, and Səl̓ílwətaʔ/Selilwitulh First Nations, whose lands were never sold, ceded, or relinquished,—lands that were taken. Vancouver Poetry House supports the resurgence of Indigenous culture and the work of Indigenous poets.
