The Vancouver Poetry House presents feature poet, Coral More.

Coral More is a Vancouver-based poet, a two-time Vancouver Poetry Slam national team member, the 2015 Vancouver Individual World Poetry Slam and Canadian Individual Poetry Slam representative, and a finalist at CIPS 2016. She has traveled to Oakland for the National Poetry Slam, Washington D.C. for the Individual World Poetry Slam, and Saskatoon for the Canadian Festival of Spoken Word. She has featured at slams in Squamish, Saskatoon, Victoria, Seattle, Olympia, and Portland.

Coral writes as an act of storytelling, healing, and reclamation.
She believes the spoken word can offer insight into lived experience with the potential to change how we view ourselves and the world. When Coral isn’t performing, she is pursuing a BA in psychology at UBC, helping to raise tiny humans, and eating copious amounts of twizzlers and tea.

We are in our three-round summer season. A two-minute round of 12 poets, a one-minute round of 6 poets, and then a four-minute round of 3 poets. Cut from below, clean slate each round. Let the summer season begin!

Cafe Deux Soleils and the Van Slam strive to be a trans friendly place and a hate speech free zone. Help us with that. We also acknowledge that this event takes place on unceded First Nations Territory.

Also, be kind to our VOLUNTEER door staff. They have to follow BC Liquor Board Rules and once we are sold out we can’t let anyone in unless someone leaves. You cannot save seats for people in line. Let them know if you are leaving. Also no ATM at the door, it’s cash ONLY.

Get there early if you want a seat or want to slam. Before 7pm!
