To celebrate the close of Verses Festival of Words 2021, and National Poetry Month, the Canadian Individual Poetry Slam culminates in an amazing finale that is not to be missed.

Come watch the final round of CIPS, where the top 10 competing spoken word poets will go head-to-head in 5 intense matches, followed by the top 5 poets in an all-out poetry melee to determine our champion this year. Hosted by: Johnny D Trinh, with guest judges: Nisha Patel, Andre Prefontaine.

There will be ASL interpreters at the CIPS Final.  

The finale will also feature: 

• Performances from past champions including: Q, and Andre Prefontaine!
• Presentation of the Zaccheus Jackson Nyce Award
• Tribute to poets by poets in memoriam including:
  • Diane Di Prima – honoured by Sheri-D Wilson
  • Michael McLure – honoured by CR Avery
  • RM Vaughan – honoured by Billeh Nickerson
  • Taran Kootenhayoo – honoured by Shane Sable
