Hello all,
After discussing things with my fellow slammaster Duncan Shields we have decided to move the Nerd Slam from December 14th to January 18th so that we can do it with Robbie Q (the host of the Nerd Slam at NPS every year) as the feature. Robbie Q has built the Nerd Slam into the most popular side event at NPS and we think it will make for a great show.
What this does mean for all of you wishing to qualify for playoffs though is that there will be 3 qualifying slams in December...the 7th featuring IWPS 2009 finalist Will Evans, the 14th featuring a very special mystery guest out of town feature and the 21st featuring Bellingham's Ryler Dustin. This also means that the only qualifying slam in January will be January 7th featuring Laura Yes Yes.
Hopefully all this will give everyone even more time to get prepped for the Nerd Slam and doesn't inconvient anybody too much.

We will be doing another round of hosting orientations for those wishing to host the slam once our rules guru the Svelte Ms. Spelt and I can coordinate a time and place. And...
For those wishing to travel over the water to check out CFSW (the Canadian National Poetry Slam) in Victoria, November 10-14, we will have festival passes and finals night tickets for sale at the slam starting tonight at the Dead Poets Slam. Who knows when this festival will be this close to our city again so I would highly encourage you to take the trip...at least for the weekend to see the best of what Canada has to offer.
