While I was away, Duncan Shields won the slam!
After the poet's name is the order that they performed in the first round, then their first round score. After that is the position that they performed in the second round, then their second round score, and finally their total score for the evening. Scores in brackets are the original scores with their assessed time penalty (TP).
NB: These are only preliminary scores. The official scores and standings are kept by our slammaster, after they have checked and double checked all the math and adjusted any scores that may have incurred penalties.
NOTE: the Score Sheet is a bit cryptic this week, and I wasn't there, so I apologize if I don't transcribe some of these names correctly.

Chris Tse 57.4
The Svelte Ms. Spelt 55.7
Joe McDonald 55.7
Duncan Shields 55.3
Seconds
Fernando Raguero 56.8
Steve Miller 56.8
Johnny MacRae 54.9

David Kurbis 54.4
WD40 53.0
Only a poet's highest ranking performance is shown in the overall standings. So, for instance, if a poet places third one night and first another night, only the first place placing will show in the standings.
There are only TWO QUALIFYING SLAMS LEFT, August 17th & August 31st. If the Slamoff were tomorrow, the poets would qualify, in this order (Chris Tse goes back to school in Ottawa in the fall and has indicated that he can't participate). Poets in bold have clinched their spot, unbolded poets are still at risk to miss the slamoff:
1. Zaccheus Jackson
2. Relevant
3. The Svelte Ms. Spelt
4. Joe McDonald
5. Duncan Shields
6. Fernando Raguero
7. Steve Miller
8. Johnny MacRae
9. Julie Peters
10. Antonette
Sidenote: it's extremely unlikely that Fernando and Steve Miller will not be in. It would require two new firsts, and three new seconds with higher scores than them. How could this happen with only two bouts left? Well, it's technically possible that we could have a tie for second place in one bout. If that tied score was higher than 56.8, then there would be a chance that Vitamin F and Steve Miller would not qualify.
