Salt Lines Tour brings four of the most accomplished spoken word artists to Vancouver in one show! This verbal quartet will storm, sing, slam, and sling salt into the eye of all that has ever silenced voices meant to be heard. Their celebration is one of being basic to the earth as salt.

These women represent some of the strongest and most respected talent coming out of the international Poetry Slam circuit.
ANDREA GIBSON is a poet/activist whose work deconstructs the foundations of the current political machine. A four time Denver Grand Slam Champion, and winner of the 2008 Women of The World Poetry Slam (Detroit), Gibson has placed 3rd in the world for the last 3 years by the iWPS.
SONYA RENEE became the National Poetry Slam Champion only 4 months into her slam career in ’04, and followed this amazing achievement with back to back top 8 finishes at the Individual World Poetry Slam Championship, a 2nd place finish at the International Poetry Slam Championship in 2005, and a 1st place finish at the Four Continents European International Slam Championship in 2006. Sonya’s poetry is blunt, raw, and poignant.
DENISE JOLLY has served as co-host and facilitator of the Seattle Poetry Slam, Poetry Curator for The Round (a live multidisciplinary collaborative arts show), Eleventh Hour Productions Board of Directors (a Seattle Based Literary Non Profit) and Founding Vice President of Stronghold Productions (a Seattle based arts non profit). Denise has performed, taught, and/or collaborated in venues as large as UC Santa Cruz, Burning Man, and Coachella and venues as small as Cook County Detention Center, Cleveland High School, and Seattle Youth Speaks writing circle. She likes doing great things with amazing people and being moved by art, community and how the two can work together.
TARA HARDY is a self-described “working class queer femme poet” and the founder of Bent, a writing institute for LGBTIQ people in Seattle, WA. She was elected Seattle’s Poet Populist and won Seattle Grand Slam Champion in 2002. She’s competed on 4 Seattle Slam Teams, coached 2 teams, and most recently brought home the 4th place trophy from the 2008 Women of the World Poetry Slam.
