Tomy Bewick is a socially conscious artist/ family man who breathes poetry and performs death defying acts of vulnerability. Having won multiple Toronto Slams and featured throughout Ontario as well as Windsor, Detroit, Columbus and Chicago’s “Green Mill”, Tomy is constantly seeking to grow as a poet, performer and person. A firm believer in DIY mentality, Tomy has self-published his first chapbook, two a'cappella CD’s and put forth his independent clothing designs (Diseased Disciple) each spring for the past two years. The creator/organizer for Open Minds Respect Events is also an original member of Toronto’s “Slam Family” collective and a past member of the Roots Lounge Slam Team that placed second at the 2007 Canadian Festival of Spoken Word. Tomy will not eat your brain, but hopes to feed your mind and maybe send a shiver or two down your spine. Video footage is online at
