On Monday August 16th, The Queens of Inappropriate let loose on the Vancouver Poetry Slam.The Queens of Inappropriate:One of us has stripped on stage for poetry. One of us has peed in public in a zebra costume. Both of us are ridiculous, passionate, adorable, and awkward. Together, Kyra Harris and Elyse Maltin are the Queens of Inappropriate....Founder of the London Poetry Slam and member of its 2009 and 2010 teams, Elyse Maltin has featured at slams across the country in addition to various feminist events. Kyra Harris is Co-Director of the London Poetry Slam, also a member of its 2009 and 2010 teams, and has written and presented about the politics of race and gender representation in slam.Touring this August in a city near you, the Queens of Inappropriate will bring their adorable awkwardness to bear in a show that explores the many facets of female sexuality from a personal, political, tear- and laughter-inducing perspective.Also, we’ll be on stage in our underwear. ‘Nuff said.This is the 2nd from last chance for poets to qualify for the Vancouver IWPS playoffs occuring September 14th so if you'd like to be Vancouver's rep, come out and slam.Where: Café Deux SoleilsDoors and Sign Up start at 8:00 PMOpen Mic begins at 8:45 PMSlam starts at 9:00 PMCover Charge: $5-10 sliding scaleHope to see you there,Sean
