Presidents
« on: March 08, 2010, 10:10:43 AM »
The VPH AGM was held over the weekend and we said goodbye to our outgoing President, Sue McIntrye and hello to our new leader, Lisa Slater.

I wanted to publicly say thank you to Sue for the exemplary and excellent leadership she has shown over the last two years as President and the preceding years as a member of the VPH board.

Sue is a thoughtful and diplomatic leader who was willing and able to step forward to bridge the gap between many differences over the years and she leaves the board in a more stable and vibrant position than when she took over the role from me.  I appreciate the work she has put in.  It's time now for her family to get more time with her.  Hooray.

And best of luck to, Lisa who enters this new era of VPH full of ideas and experience with working with non profits and charitable organizations.  Lisa is certainly the right person at the right time to take over VPH now.

Also, welcome to our new board members, Noreen Nathoo, Jessica Mason-Paull and Duncan Shields.

Hear! Hear! ~ grumbles approvingly and slaps tabletop ~ Hear! Hear!

I'd like to echo RC's sentiments. Sue has done a fantastic job of captaining VPH through some tricky waters. We're now in better shape than ever to move forward and tackle bigger and better things, and that's in no small part due to Sue's great work as President. I respect Sue's choice to step down so that she can spend more time with her family. We'll miss her presence on the board, but we will also remember her words of wisdom. If you're going to be part of a volunteer organization, it's important to make it fun for yourself, and for the other volunteers who are donating their time! I couldn't agree more!

Lisa has spent her entire professional life working in the non-profit sector, and she brings a wealth of knowledge from that work to our board. I look forward to her taking over Sue's role.

And big ups to Nooreen, Jessica and Duncan stepping up to the plate and joining the board! We can't wait to start employing your talents. This really is an exciting time for us.

Thanks you guys. Being part of PoHouse has been one of the best things I have ever experienced. I am available when you need me, and will be watching and cheering you on as you move forward. Thank you for everything you do, and are about to do.
